Birthday Stuff!

Edlest and his sweetie sent me a box of goodies the other day. I nearly had a stroke because the delivery jackass left the box on the back porch in the pounding rain. I got home and it was soaked. Knowing who it was from made it worse...sweetie loves to bake and I just knew there would be home baled lovlies in there. Talk about the fates being with me...When I pulled it all open (it was that wet, the box just pulled apart), the cardboard was completely soaked, but the wrapped elights inside were not yet so much as damp! So I totally got to enjoy the 2 loaves of banana bread (with AND without nuts) as well as a lovely bracelet and cute little flower and card. Despite the monsoon.

My daughter told me I had to stay home today, because she had a special something being delivered to me and so I stayed. I kept trying to keep myself from hoping that SHE would be that special something. I would never, in a million tries, guess that she'd gotten me one of these edible arrangements. We have a store a few towns away and we've looked through the window and drooled a few times, but I never thought I'd actually HAVE one, and now that I do, I don't want to mess it up by eating it.

I'm sure I will overcome that and tuck in soon. I did try one inconspicuous piece of pineapple and as good as it looks, it tastes even better. And yes, I cried. Thank you sweetie.
