A Bounty of Berries
MMMmmmmmm. This is what I am getting out of my backyard on a daily basis. WHO said I have a black thumb??? Ok, well, I have been known to kill the hardiest of house plants, but damn, I know my way around a berry, don't I?
I have been having quite a time, letting the fruit ripen completely on the vine and still beat the critters to it. So, I usually pick 2-3 times per day. HEY! It's my week off, so if I want to pick several times per day, I can! Today I had a bit less of a bounty, so I wound up just eating them as I picked.
Oh LORD there is nothing as sweet as a completely ripe strawberry still on the vine.
I am resisting the urge to dip them in chocolate. It's a constant battle, but one I am, at the moment, winning.
