It might make a bit more sense that way, and you might stumble upon one of my better postings in case this one sorta just sucks! CLICK HERE for a RANDOM ENTRY. Monday, Apr. 29, 2002 - 6:30 A.M. MOM! There's Nothing to Eat! I spent $428.00 at Mejer yesterday, a DISCOUNT food store. That is my pantry above. That pantry gives a small glimpse at the eating habits of this house. You can see, if you look closely, at the 6 Rubbermaid containers of cereals: Rice Chex, Frosted Mini Wheats, Special K with Red Berries, Cheerios, Kellog's Corn Flakes, and Rice Krispie Treat Cereal. What you CAN'T see is the additional boxes behind of Kix and Grape Nuts. I love cereal. It is my life, or was before Life with WW. It's not that cereal is a bad deal point-wise, but I like it with milk too. That makes most of the cereals a total of 4 points and I don't like to give up those points easily. I save it for night when I have points to use up. The Frosted Cereal is MOTH's and the Rice Krispie Treat Cereal belongs to the kids. The Special K is mine. And we pretty much fight over the rest of it. MOTH can't understand how I can eat any of the plain stuff without sugar, but then I never have used it (except when I was young, but that 2 inches of solid sugar milk in the bottom of the bowl used to gross me out!). You might be able to spot a bit of my organization. The top shelf holds mostly baking goods and staple items like flour and sugar and Oatmeal. Hmmm.... Another cereal! The Next shelf has a row of canned meats (tuna, chicken), a row of spreads (peanut butter, Nutella, Milky Way), a row of sauces (tomato and pizza), a row of tiny baby food banana jars (to flavor the oatmeal). Then there's the canned fruit row, the canned dinner row (stews), and boxed foods. Below that is the cereal and cookie shelf, followed by the soups and snacks. In the boxes below left are the wraps and foils and containers. Below right are seasonings, my Baked Lays and WOW chips. Even more telling than my pantry, is the fact that this pantry holds about 1/4 of this household's food. There is another pantry downstairs with the backup supplies. The refills and item used less frequently. More unopened boxes of cereal, chips, cookies. A supply of canned soups and stews and meats. Hamburger and Chicken Helper, Rice a Roni (the SanFransisco Treat), extra Rice, Macaroni and cheese, cases of Kool Aid. Aside from that, the fridge/freezer in the kitchen is packed so that not another thing can be put in. And then there is the chest freezer in the garage packed to capacity with about 40 assorted low point frozen dinners, almost every cut of beef, chicken and pork, and ice cream. And Eldest just left for McDonald's. "Let us celebrate our agreement with the adding of chocolate to milk." *Homer Simpson* (Sould I even bother anymore?)
