WeBe Patriotic!
The parade today was different. All of the fire trucks were silent. Did that happen in the 4th of July parades around the country last week? After the initial color guard, there were three fire fighters carrying helmets draped in purple cloth. Then about 30 fire trucks went by silently, lights flashing. Solemn. Eerie. Strong.
Aside from that, the mood was festive. We had a fab time with the fam. I helped my youngest niece grab as much candy as possible. I begged for her, and got a lot of donations based on my attire. Seems as though the way to really get noticed at a patriotic event is to dress like I did! So, I made her pay me for my services (which included grass stains on my white pants as i dove for tootsie rolls) by OFFICIALLY making me her favorite aunt of all time for one week.
Of course I ate everything I wasn't supposed to, so tomorrow I am BIG TIME back to writing down everything I consume. I gotta get back on track for more than 2 or 3 days at a time. Dammit, I keep losing and regaining the same freaking 4 pounds over and over again!
