Road Tax As you ALL know from yesterday's post, I am getting a hefty tax return so I filed early. Not really as early as I wanted to, but certainly I got it done well before the deadline. Well, they say that "If you gotta pay, wait til the last day." So MOTH waited. With 4 hours left until the deadline, I talked him into NOT filing for an extension, biting the bullet and paying them now. We really will never be in a better position to pay them, we HAVE the money in the bank right now, who knows what our lives will be like in 6 months? I also just didn't want to risk forgetting or just even having to think about paying this much money to anyone, let alone the Government, for any longer than we had to. So. He got them finished, then we learned that you can't e-file if you owe money. Duh. Makes sense I guess. Maybe in a few years they will take bank cards. But for now, it was dash off to the post office. Ours here in town was closed, but I placed a call to the County Seat, and they answered, "Post Office, we're open til midnight." Cool. Road trip! It was a beautiful night. We have this unseasonable warm front right now, it hit 91 degrees, and at 11pm it was still warm enough to have the car windows open. Breezy, warm, clear sky, brilliant crescent moon, loads of stars. Good conversation. Perfect company. I love this guy so much that even going to pay taxes together is a pleasure. How blessed am I? Or should I say, "Am I so lucky?"
