I figure direct casualties will go over 100,000 for certain, and indirect (from disease, etc) could hit 500,000. All because they don't have a warning system set up "too expensive".
I don't know what was shitty about the UN, in particular. In general I give the UN the same level of interest I would a bucket of spit. About as useful also.

Yes..Ibe...goodbye 2004. But please don't let the year end without reflecting on the lives YOU have changed this year. All the ups and downs of loving and supporting your babies grappling with the final months of high school...the joy of anniversaries and stress of health scares with your 'superman'...the unending change (for better or worse) and MAJOR accomplishments for you at work...your support for your family (moth, kiddos, siblings, pseudo kiddos, parents)..although I don't see first hand, I know that you are a ROCK for them. Your humor, love, cheerleading, compassion, empathy, and generosity have given everyone around you a better 2004 - give a little toast to YOU as you ring in 2005.

Stumbled upon your diary tonight. Don't know what your issue was but I totally AGREEEEEEE with you about not doing business with Washington Mutual. They were my mortgage company. I asked them one question and they screwed around with me for 3 months!!! After repeat letters from my lawyer they STILL never did what I asked them to do. I have never in my life dealt with such incompetent, shady morons.
Die Washington Mutual DIE!!!!
