Confusing X's and Z's!

Well slap my bottom and call me Sarah. Sorry for the typo. The last entry SHOULD have been titled:

UPPING THE Z!

So all of you who have signed my guestbook, emailed and/or phoned me (!), I am NOT back on the X!!! I am happy with my little blue buddy "Z" and and upping the dosage on that. Ok?

Now before I had a chance to beat myself up about this typo thing, I heard a really incredible story on the news tonight.

Apparently, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale Florida, in preparation for the city's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, commissioned a plaque intended to honor actor James Earl Jones. The plaque was made by a Texas-based business. The plaque features a 15-cent stamp of King and stamps of six other famous African-Americans, including Harriet Tubman, W.E.B. DuBois and Paul Laurence Dunbar. The finished product arrived Monday. The problem is, the plaque has a...er...um...typo:

"Thank you James Earl Ray for keeping the dream alive.''

Now that's one HELL of a typo! The owner of the company that made the plaque called the mistake a copy error, not a slur.

"We have a lot of people who don't speak English. Accidentally, one of the girls who doesn't know James Earl Jones from a man on the moon accidentally typed James Earl Ray,'' the owner said, and then offered to correct the plaque if they return it.

Officials in Florida accused the company of being "culturally insensitive'' and is having the damage repaired locally so it will be ready Saturday.

I will try to type more carefully. Thank you all for your concern. :-)
