Friday Five

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

I hate the cold with one exception. I love when it snows very hard with the big large wet flakes. Its especially lovely when its at night, and the snow muffles all of the sounds. When its a really wet snow it doesnt feel so cold, I could stay out in it forever. As far as snow in general, my theory is if its going to snow, Id rather we get enough to close the schools!

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

As long as its with family, its ideal.

There is a very special New Years Eve I will never forget, the first one I had with MOTH where we were snowed in at his house during a horrific blizzard. The more it howled outside and snowed, the tighter we cuddled. The colder it got outside, the warmer we got. It was absolutely perfect.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

Only one which I wont budge on, and thats Christmas Eve at my moms house when ALL of my sibs and nieces and nephews gather for an evening of talk and laughter and food, and yes, gifts. But even the grandkids would give up the gifts if they could just have that night together. Its been going on for over 19 years now, and Ive instructed my parents that they must live forever so it wont ever change, only get larger.

Last year we began what I pray will be another annual tradition that goes on forever, and thats New Years Eve at Little Bros house. Most of the adults play Royal Rummy and most of the cousins play Careers until all hours.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

I do what I do quietly and privately.

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

Nothing material at all. I just want MOTH, my kids, and my family around me. I would be completely content and happy with nothing else.
